Larsen & Toubro’s Water & Effluent Treatment division has received new contracts from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan. The company has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for Phase II, Package-1 of the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project.
The scope of work includes laying 5,251 kilometers of transmission and distribution pipelines, building 38 ground-level reservoirs with a combined capacity of 40 million liters (ML), constructing 132 overhead service reservoirs totaling 25 ML, and setting up 20 pump houses. This initiative is designed to supply drinking water to 285 villages as well as the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati in Jhunjhunu district.
In addition, L&T has secured another order to upgrade and rehabilitate the water distribution network in the Kekri-Sarwar region of Ajmer district. This contract covers the installation of 43 kilometers of transmission pipelines. Both projects also include related electrical and mechanical components, instrumentation, automation, SCADA systems, a one-year defect liability period, and a decade-long operations and maintenance commitment.
