Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has received an ultra-mega contract from Adani Power Ltd to build eight advanced thermal power units of 800 MW each, adding 6,400 MW to India’s generation capacity. The project will be executed by L&T Energy – CarbonLite Solutions (LTECLS), the company’s dedicated vertical for high-efficiency power and low-carbon technologies.
The contract covers complete design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) packages, along with auxiliaries and associated mechanical, electrical, and control & instrumentation systems. Adani Power, the country’s largest private-sector thermal power producer with more than 18,000 MW of installed capacity, plays a key role in meeting India’s base load power demand. This project further strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies, blending L&T’s proven project execution strengths with Adani’s commitment to reliable, efficient energy supply for households and industries nationwide.
