Loft Dynamics, a global provider of virtual reality (VR) pilot training technology, has announced that Indocopters Private Limited will install the first Loft Dynamics Airbus H125 TXi VR full-motion simulator in India. The installation will establish South Asia’s first dedicated H125 VR training facility, expanding access to advanced helicopter pilot training and strengthening the region’s aviation safety ecosystem.
The simulator will be installed at Indocopters’ headquarters in Greater Noida, near Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. The facility will support Airbus H125 family type-specific training, emergency procedures, region-specific safety programmes and selected basic training. The system is expected to serve pilots from Indocopters, its affiliates, including Global Vectra Helicorp Limited, and other helicopter operators across South Asia.
The initiative comes at a time when the H125 fleet continues to expand across the region. More than 80 H125 helicopters are currently operating across India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The start of H125 production in India by Airbus Helicopters and Tata Advanced Systems at the country’s first private-sector helicopter final assembly line in Vemagal, Karnataka, is also expected to strengthen local aviation capabilities and support future fleet growth.
Ajay Shah, CEO of Indocopters Private Limited, said, “The H125 is a key platform for multi-mission helicopter operations across the Indian subcontinent, supporting utility, corporate transport, emergency medical services, disaster response and high-altitude missions. The Loft Dynamics simulator will enable pilots to practise emergency procedures, adverse weather operations, confined-area landings and other demanding scenarios in a safe and controlled environment, helping us further strengthen pilot proficiency and flight safety.”
The H125 TXi VR full-motion simulator will feature a six-degree-of-freedom motion system, integrated glass cockpit, 360-degree 3D virtual environment and force-feedback controls. The technology allows pilots to rehearse routine operations, abnormal situations, emergency procedures and mission-specific scenarios without the risks and costs associated with live flight training.
Sebastien Borel, CEO of Loft Dynamics, said, “Advanced simulation should be accessible where pilots and operators need it most. Our partnership with Indocopters demonstrates how compact, immersive full-motion VR technology can bring high-quality training closer to aircraft fleets, enabling pilots to train more frequently and prepare for complex missions before they take to the air.”
Sunny Guglani, Head of Airbus Helicopters, India and South Asia, added that the region’s growing helicopter ecosystem requires strong capabilities across aircraft operations, maintenance, training and pilot readiness. The new simulator will complement India’s expanding H125 ecosystem by providing pilots with opportunities to safely practise high-risk and difficult-to-replicate flight scenarios.
Loft Dynamics AG is a global leader in immersive pilot training and the only company whose virtual reality (VR) flight simulators are certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB). Its training solutions are used by leading aviation organisations, including Alaska Airlines, Airbus Helicopters, and the Los Angeles Police Department, as well as commercial airlines, helicopter operators, eVTOL companies, flight schools, aircraft manufacturers, government agencies, and regulators. The company develops compact, full-motion VR simulators that deliver high-quality training while requiring significantly less space and investment than conventional simulators. Its connected training ecosystem also includes remote learning tools, virtual instruction from experienced pilots, and AI-powered performance analytics, helping make pilot training more accessible, efficient, and scalable worldwide.
