Linc Limited, a leading Indian manufacturer of writing instruments, has formally begun operations of its new joint venture with Mitsubishi Pencil Co, Ltd (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President: Shigehiko Suhara). The partnership has resulted in the creation of UNI LINC INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, an initiative set to reshape the writing instruments landscape in India.
This venture brings together Linc’s extensive market presence, strong distribution channels, and brand trust in India with Mitsubishi Pencil’s global reputation for innovation, precision, and product excellence through its Uni brand. The goal is to introduce Indian consumers to a fresh benchmark in writing solutions—delivering Japanese quality and technology at prices accessible to the mass market. UNI LINC INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED will not only serve domestic consumers but also act as a strategic base for strengthening the supply chain of writing instruments.
Commenting on the launch, Aloke Jalan, Whole-time Director of Linc Limited, said “At Linc, we have always aimed to encourage creativity and self-expression through dependable writing instruments. Our collaboration with Mitsubishi Pencil represents more than a business alliance—it reflects a common vision and shared values. Through UNI LINC INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, we plan to offer global-standard products designed for Indian consumers, while also making India an important contributor to the global writing instruments industry. This is a proud moment for us, and we are excited to shape the future of writing alongside our partner.”
Production officially began in September 2025, with the first focus on ballpoint pens designed specifically for Indian users. These products combine Mitsubishi Pencil’s craftsmanship and precision with price points tailored to India’s high-volume market. The portfolio will gradually expand to include a wider range of premium and value-added writing solutions, further enhancing consumer choice and strengthening Linc’s presence in the industry.
