Legrand has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Nashik, Maharashtra, marking a significant step in the company’s strategy to expand capacity for data centre solutions and export-focused production. The new plant reinforces Legrand’s long-term commitment to India as a manufacturing and innovation hub serving both domestic and international markets.

The Nashik facility has been designed to support the growing demand for power distribution, rack systems, and critical infrastructure products used in data centres. With digitalisation accelerating across industries and cloud adoption increasing, data centres have emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments for electrical and digital building infrastructure. Legrand’s latest investment aims to address this demand with locally manufactured, globally compliant products.

Spread across a modern industrial campus, the facility integrates advanced manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and scalable production lines. It is equipped to handle high-mix, high-volume manufacturing while maintaining consistency and reliability—key requirements for data centre environments where uptime and performance are critical. The plant also aligns with Legrand’s global standards for operational excellence, safety, and sustainability.

A significant portion of the output from the Nashik unit will be dedicated to exports, supporting Legrand’s supply chain across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and select European markets. By expanding export-oriented manufacturing in India, the company aims to improve supply responsiveness, optimise costs, and strengthen its global footprint while reducing dependency on single-region production.

The facility incorporates automation and digitised production systems to improve efficiency and traceability across the manufacturing process. Emphasis has also been placed on energy efficiency and responsible resource usage, in line with Legrand’s sustainability commitments. Measures such as optimised energy consumption, waste reduction practices, and environmentally conscious design have been embedded into the plant’s operations.

With this addition, Legrand further strengthens its manufacturing presence in India, complementing its existing plants and R&D capabilities. The Nashik unit is expected to play a key role in supporting future product development, localisation efforts, and faster go-to-market cycles for emerging technologies in power and digital infrastructure.

As data centre investments continue to rise in India and globally, Legrand expects the Nashik facility to act as a cornerstone for meeting both current and future demand. By combining export-oriented scale with application-specific manufacturing, the company aims to support customers seeking reliable, standards-compliant solutions for mission-critical environments. The inauguration of the Nashik manufacturing facility underscores Legrand’s focus on building resilient supply chains, expanding global capacity, and positioning India as a central pillar in its international growth strategy.
