The environmental initiative CDP has recognized LANXESS for its exceptional efforts in addressing climate change. In its latest assessment, the specialty chemicals company received the highest rating of “A” in the “Climate” category. This places LANXESS among the top 2 percent of over 24,700 companies evaluated by CDP.
The “A” rating is granted to organizations that show exceptional transparency and comprehensiveness in reporting their climate protection activities and implementing related projects. To achieve this, companies must showcase strategies and actions, such as setting scientifically backed targets and developing a climate protection plan. LANXESS has been sharing climate-related data with CDP since 2012.Additionally, CDP evaluated LANXESS’ approach to the responsible management of water resources, awarding the company an “A-” grade.

The independent non-profit organization CDP works to promote global transparency regarding greenhouse gas emissions, water management, and forest preservation. In 2025, over 24,700 companies reported their data, making the CDP platform one of the most extensive sources of environmental information worldwide. CDP’s reporting now represents more than 66 percent of the global listed market capital, reflecting its status as an essential business standard.
