Preparations are underway for the 24th edition of LAMIERA 2027, the international exhibition dedicated to sheet metal forming and cutting technologies, with exhibitor registrations receiving a strong response ahead of the event. Scheduled to be held at Fiera Milano Rho from May 11 to 14, 2027, the exhibition is expected to bring together leading manufacturers, technology providers and industry professionals from around the world.
Organised by CEU – Centro Esposizioni UCIMU and promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, LAMIERA remains Italy’s only trade fair exclusively focused on technologies for sheet metal forming and processing. The organisers said the online application process has already attracted significant interest, with several leading companies confirming their participation at an early stage.
Held under the theme “The Sound of Innovation,” the 2027 edition will serve as a platform for companies to introduce new products, advanced manufacturing technologies and digital solutions designed to improve productivity, efficiency and sustainability across the sheet metal processing industry.
The exhibition comes at a time when the Italian manufacturing sector is expected to benefit from industrial policy measures introduced by the government in 2026 to encourage investment in advanced production technologies. These initiatives are expected to support demand for modern machinery and automation solutions across the country’s manufacturing sector.
LAMIERA 2027 will feature technologies covering the complete sheet metal manufacturing value chain, including machines and systems for processing sheet metal, tubes, profiles and wire, as well as structural metalworking, presses, dies, moulds, welding equipment, surface treatment technologies, finishing systems, tooling, accessories, clamping solutions and industrial subcontracting services. More than 500 machines are expected to be displayed in operation during the exhibition.
The event will also feature six dedicated technology areas. FABBRICA FUTURA will focus on digital manufacturing, automation, robotics, software and connectivity solutions. SALDATECH will present the latest welding technologies, while FASTENER INDUSTRY will showcase fastening systems and related components. HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS will highlight equipment for material treatment processes, METROLOGY & TESTING will feature inspection and quality control technologies, and BLECH ITALY SERVICE will focus on industrial subcontracting and technical services for the sector.
Another key feature of the exhibition will be the Revamping & Retrofitting area, where visitors can explore refurbished and upgraded machinery that combines modern capabilities with cost-effective manufacturing solutions. A new addition to the 2027 edition is the LAMIERA FutureTech Award, which will recognise exhibitors presenting outstanding technological innovations. Entries will be evaluated on innovation in mechanical engineering, digital transformation, and environmental, economic and social sustainability, reinforcing the exhibition’s focus on technological advancement and responsible manufacturing.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Riccardo Rosa, President of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, said the strong early response from exhibitors reflects LAMIERA’s growing importance as one of the world’s leading exhibitions for sheet metal technologies. He noted that the previous edition in 2025 attracted more than 24,000 professional visitors, hosted over 400 exhibitors from 23 countries, and covered 40,000 square metres of exhibition space.
In addition to the exhibition, LAMIERA 2027 will host conferences, technical sessions and networking events under the LAMIALAMIERA programme, along with international buyer delegations organised in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Education-focused initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities will also be organised, making the exhibition a comprehensive platform for innovation, business development and technology exchange in the global sheet metal industry.
