KPI Green Energy Limited has announced the commencement of power generation and supply from its 92.15 MWp Independent Power Producer (IPP) hybrid renewable energy project awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The project has successfully achieved grid synchronization, and electricity is now being supplied to the Gujarat state grid.
The hybrid project was secured by KPI Green Energy through GUVNL’s competitive bidding process for renewable energy capacity. It has a total contracted capacity of 92.15 MWp, comprising 16.95 MW of wind power and 75.2 MWp of solar power. GUVNL is the sole offtaker for the project under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement.
Notably, the project has begun supplying power well ahead of its scheduled completion date of July 2026. This early commissioning reflects the company’s ability to execute large-scale renewable projects efficiently, supported by integrated in-house capabilities across development, engineering, procurement, and construction.
With the start of commercial power generation, the project is expected to make a steady contribution to KPI Green Energy’s revenues in line with the terms of the long-term PPA. The contracted nature of the project is expected to provide predictable and stable cash flows, further strengthening the company’s overall renewable energy portfolio.
Commenting on the development, Dr Faruk G Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KPI Green Energy Limited, said that the early start of power supply highlights the company’s strong execution discipline and focus on timely project delivery. He added that hybrid renewable projects play an important role in improving generation consistency by combining wind and solar resources, thereby supporting grid reliability.
The commissioning of this project reinforces KPI Green Energy’s growing presence across wind, solar, and hybrid power segments. It also aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of building a diversified and resilient renewable energy portfolio while supporting India’s clean energy and decarbonization goals. Founded in 1994 by Dr Faruk G Patel, KP Group has evolved into a diversified conglomerate with a strong presence across renewable energy, infrastructure, and innovation.
Over the past three decades, the group has delivered landmark projects in solar, wind, hybrid power, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and green hydrogen, driving India’s green energy mission forward. With its growing renewable portfolio and commitment to sustainable development, KP Group has established itself as a trusted partner for industries pursuing decarbonization and continues to set new benchmarks in the renewable energy sector.
