Kioxia Corporation, a global pioneer in memory and storage solutions, has received the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025 for its EXCERIA PLUS G2 Portable SSD Series. This recognition places the product among the top examples of outstanding design worldwide. The award ceremony is set to take place on July 8 in Essen, Germany.

The EXCERIA PLUS G2 stood out to the jury—comprising internationally respected design professionals—for its clean, modern look and practical features. Its smooth, screw-free aluminum casing offers not just a premium appearance but also effective heat management and added durability, making it suitable for everyday use and on-the-go protection. This isn’t the first design accolade for the EXCERIA PLUS G2 series—it was also honored with Japan’s GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2024, further cementing its reputation for blending form and function.

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions, recognizing excellence in product design, communication design, and design concepts. Established in 1955 in Germany, the award honors innovation, functionality, aesthetics, and the impact of design across industries. Each year, designers, companies, and organizations from around the globe submit their work to be evaluated by an independent panel of international design experts. Winning a Red Dot is widely regarded as a mark of outstanding quality and creative achievement, helping recipients gain global recognition and trust within their markets.

Kioxia, formerly known as Toshiba Memory, has a long history of innovation in the flash storage sector. Since its spin-off from Toshiba in 2017, the company has continued to push boundaries with technologies like BiCS FLASH™, its proprietary 3D flash memory, powering a range of modern applications—from smartphones and PCs to automotive and cloud infrastructure.
