Kia India has officially started mass production of the Kia Syros, an all-new SUV tailored to the preferences of Indian customers. Unveiled in December 2024, the Syros is set to raise the bar in terms of design, technology, and space.
The company marked this milestone with a ceremony at its Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh, India, attended by senior executives including Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia Corporation, and Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director of Kia India. The Syros has already generated significant interest, with 10,258 pre-sales recorded, highlighting its strong market potential. This five-seat SUV has been carefully crafted based on detailed research of local market needs, ensuring it delivers precisely what Indian consumers seek.
“We’re thrilled with the response from Indian customers for the new Kia Syros SUV,” said Ho Sung Song. “The pre-sales success signals a positive future for the model in India, and it underscores Kia’s commitment to delivering value through innovative features and services.”
The Syros’s blend of cutting-edge design, practicality, and advanced connectivity features has been a key factor in generating early market excitement. Adopting Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, the Syros merges bold aesthetics with family-friendly functionality, offering a sophisticated and futuristic look. The interior is designed for maximum space and comfort, with high-quality materials and innovative technology that aligns with the evolving demands of Indian consumers.
Notable features include segment-first rear sliding, reclining, and ventilated seats, alongside more than 80 connected features. The Syros also boasts a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a premium Harman Kardon 8-speaker sound system, and Over-the-Air (OTA) software update capability, all setting new standards in the segment.
Safety is a top priority, with the Syros equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that include 16 autonomous safety features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, a 360-degree camera, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go. Additional standard safety features include Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, six airbags, and more.
Sales of the Kia Syros will officially launch in India on February 1, with customer deliveries expected to follow shortly after. Kia also plans to expand the Syros’s availability to markets across the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East. This launch marks another step in Kia’s global strategy to deliver sustainable mobility solutions and cutting-edge technology to its customers.
