Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL), a provider of mobility and freight transportation solutions, has secured two orders worth a combined ₹211.27 crore, including GST, from JSW Port Logistics Private Limited and Orissa Alloy Steel Private Limited (OASPL). The orders strengthen the company’s position in the private freight wagon market and add to its growing order book.
Jupiter Wagons has received a Letter of Intent worth ₹147.11 crore from JSW Port Logistics for the manufacture and supply of seven BOSM rakes comprising 329 wagons. The order marks the company’s second major win from the JSW Group within six weeks.
Earlier in June 2026, Jupiter Wagons received a ₹122.88 crore order from JSW (South) Rail Logistics Private Limited. With the latest order, the company’s cumulative order intake from the JSW Group has reached approximately ₹270 crore in less than two months, reflecting continued demand for private-sector rolling stock.
In a separate order, OASPL has placed a ₹64.16 crore purchase order with Jupiter Wagons for the manufacture and supply of 150 wagons under the LSFTO Scheme. The two orders together further expand Jupiter Wagons’ presence among private-sector customers and highlight the growing requirement for specialised and high-capacity freight wagons. The company expects increasing private investment in rail logistics and wagon ownership to create further opportunities for manufacturers of modern rolling stock.
Vivek Lohia, Managing Director, Jupiter Wagons Limited, said the latest orders demonstrate continued customer confidence in the company’s manufacturing capabilities and execution track record. He added that the company sees significant opportunities as India’s rail freight ecosystem expands and private ownership of rolling stock increases.
The company is focused on meeting rising demand through its integrated manufacturing capabilities and broad product portfolio. Jupiter Wagons manufactures freight wagons and supplies a range of railway components, including couplers, draft gears, bogies, brake systems, wheels, axles and wheelsets.
JWL has manufacturing facilities in Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Indore, Jabalpur, Bengaluru and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, supported by backward integration into foundry operations. The company also has technology and manufacturing partnerships with global players including Tatravagonka of Slovakia, DAKO CZ of the Czech Republic, Kovis of Slovenia and Talleres Alegria of Spain.
