Jungheinrich has officially launched sales of its EAC 212a autonomous mobile robot, designed to automate pallet transport across warehouses, production facilities and distribution operations. The robot was introduced at LogiMAT 2026 and features an integrated lifting function that allows it to connect different stages of material handling.
The EAC 212a automates the movement of pallets between goods receipt, storage, production and dispatch. It can connect floor storage locations, transport lanes, block storage areas, conveyor systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, as well as production and packaging equipment. This allows businesses to automate material movement across multiple operational areas.
Jungheinrich has focused on making the system easy to integrate into existing facilities. Many applications can be implemented without major infrastructure changes, allowing businesses to begin automation with a single robot and expand as requirements increase. The system is designed to support the gradual introduction of automation. Companies can add more vehicles, connect additional process areas and integrate the robot with wider automation systems without replacing existing investments.
Frederik Brantner, Vice President Robotics at Jungheinrich, said customer response before the official launch had exceeded expectations. He said businesses had shown particular interest in the robot’s integration process and its range of applications, adding that the EAC 212a was already being adopted in automation projects.
The new model draws on developments in Jungheinrich’s automation platform. At launch, the EAC 212a incorporates several functions previously developed for the EAE 212a. These include automated pallet storage and retrieval in block storage areas, intelligent management of pallet positions within storage rows, faster storage and retrieval operations, and recovery functions that allow the robot to resolve certain disruptions independently.
The robot’s software architecture also provides a basis for incorporating Physical AI capabilities. Planned applications include camera-based recognition and handling of different load carriers, which could support more flexible material handling as operational requirements change.
With the EAC 212a, Jungheinrich is expanding its autonomous mobile robot portfolio with a system focused on pallet transport and scalable automation. Its integrated lifting function and software capabilities are intended to help companies connect separate material-handling processes while allowing them to increase automation capacity over time. The launch adds another option for businesses seeking to automate internal logistics across warehousing, manufacturing and dispatch operations without undertaking extensive changes to existing infrastructure.
Jungheinrich provides material-handling equipment, warehouse technology and automation solutions for logistics and industrial operations. Its portfolio includes warehouse trucks, automated systems and digital solutions designed to support the movement and storage of goods.
