JSW Neo Energy, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, announced that it has been awarded a contract to develop a 300 MW wind-solar hybrid power project by NTPC Limited. This award is part of NTPC’s bid to establish 1,000 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects under the NTPC-Tranche-VI initiative.

With this new project, JSW Neo Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity has increased to 16.7 GW, including 2.6 GW of hybrid capacity. The company aims to achieve an installed generation capacity of 10 GW by the end of FY25, up from its current 7.5 GW.

In a separate announcement, JSW Energy disclosed that its subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Twenty Limited, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) for a 300 MW solar project in Karnataka’s Pavagada Solar Park. The agreement, which lasts until FY 2044, sets the tariff at Rs 2.89 per kWh. The project is expected to be operational within the next 18 months.

Currently, JSW Energy’s total generation capacity stands at 16.7 GW, comprising 7.5 GW of operational capacity, 2.3 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro, and a renewable energy pipeline of 6.9 GW with PPAs signed for 2.0 GW. Additionally, the company has 4.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects.
