JSW Neo Energy Wins 192MW Hybrid Power Project

On Monday, JSW Energy announced that its subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy, has secured a 192-MW hybrid power project. This includes an additional 96 MW under the greenshoe option from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam.

The project capacity was awarded through tariff-based competitive bidding for the development of 500 MW grid-connected hybrid power projects (Phase II), with an option for an additional 500 MW capacity. JSW Energy plans to increase its installed generation capacity to 10 GW by FY25, up from the current 7.5 GW.

The company has a total locked-in generation capacity of 16.2 GW, consisting of 7.5 GW operational, 2.3 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro, and a renewable energy pipeline of 6.3 GW (with PPAs signed for 2.0 GW). Additionally, JSW Energy has locked-in energy storage capacity of 4.2 GWh through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.

The company aims to achieve a generation capacity of 20 GW and energy storage capacity of 40 GWh by 2030. JSW Energy has also set a goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
