JSW Energy Subsidiary Commissions 300 MW Wind Project Awarded by SECI Tranche X

JSW Energy announced that its subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Two Limited, has successfully commissioned a 300 MW ISTS-connected wind power project located in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. This project was awarded under Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) Tranche X.

This marks JSW Energy’s first greenfield wind power plant for SECI. “The newly commissioned wind project will be a key addition to our renewable energy portfolio, advancing our goal of a more sustainable future. The additional 150 MW awarded under SECI Tranche X at Dharapuram, Tamil Nadu, is also nearing completion, with 138 MW already commissioned,” the company shared in a regulatory statement.

Following this commissioning, JSW Energy’s total installed capacity now stands at 7,726 MW, with 2,114 MW under construction, which is expected to be completed by the end of FY25. The company’s current wind power capacity has reached 2,152 MW.

Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, stated, “With the commissioning of our first greenfield wind power project for SECI, we demonstrate our capability and commitment to driving India’s green energy transition. This achievement is a significant step towards reaching our goal of 10 GW installed capacity by FY2025. We also have a solid pipeline of renewable projects, keeping us on track to achieve 20 GW by 2030. I express my gratitude to our team and partners for their relentless efforts.”

JSW Energy has a locked-in generation capacity of 18.2 GW, which includes wind, solar, hydro, and thermal power. The company’s renewable pipeline stands at 8.3 GW, with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) signed for 2.3 GW. Additionally, JSW Energy has secured 4.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.
