Jindal Stainless Limited has achieved a milestone by making history as the inaugural participant in the newly inaugurated direct air cargo operations at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar. This accomplishment underscores the company’s commitment to pioneering advancements in logistics and transportation.
Jindal Stainless stands as one of the prominent players in the global stainless-steel industry. The company is a part of the renowned Jindal Group and is recognized for its comprehensive range of stainless-steel products. Jindal Stainless operates state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, producing high-quality stainless steel flat and long products for diverse sectors, including infrastructure, automotive, and appliances.
To mark the occasion, the company dispatched a consignment weighing 28 kilograms comprising samples of hot-rolled stainless-steel plates to Sweden. Distinguished guests, including the Honorable Minister of the MSME Department, Pratap Keshari Deb; the Principal Secretary of the MSME Department, Saswat Mishra (IAS); and the Principal Secretary of the Department of Commerce and Transport, Usha Padhee (IAS), graced the flag-off ceremony.
Abhyuday Jindal, the Managing Director of Jindal Stainless, expressed his enthusiasm and underscored the significance of this development in bolstering Odisha’s export potential and stimulating economic growth in the region. He highlighted the positive impact on employment opportunities in the area and viewed the utilization of air cargo capabilities at Bhubaneswar airport as a mutually beneficial strategy.
During the ceremony, Deepak Agrawal, the Unit Head of Jindal Stainless’s Jajpur manufacturing facility, praised the collaborative efforts of stakeholders, airport management, and the local government. He reiterated the company’s commitment to dismantling barriers, promoting expansion, and transforming the production landscape.
The integration of state-of-the-art equipment has empowered Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) to handle approximately 1,000 metric tonnes of international freight annually, facilitating direct shipments to various nations. This achievement not only speaks to the forward-looking capabilities of the airport but also underscores the company’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of international trade.
