Jindal Stainless Foundation (JSF), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Jindal Stainless, is expanding access to healthcare in rural and remote communities of Jajpur district through its Niramaya programme. The initiative combines primary healthcare services, mobile medical support, specialised health camps and awareness activities to reach underserved populations.

Under Niramaya, a clinic and a mobile medical van provide healthcare services across more than 15 villages in the region. The programme also organises regular medical camps and awareness sessions to encourage preventive healthcare and improve understanding of common health conditions.

The awareness initiatives cover general health concerns as well as tuberculosis, cancer, diarrhoea, HIV/AIDS, malaria and sunstroke. These activities aim to help communities recognise health risks, understand preventive measures and seek medical attention when required.

Recent health camps were held in Kumbhiragadia village in Danagadi Block and Pataranga village in Korei Block. More than 600 people benefited from the camps, which provided access to healthcare services closer to their homes. Pritika Chand, Head of CSR at Jindal Stainless, said awareness and access to treatment were both important to improving community health.

“For any community to stay healthy, awareness about prevention is as important as access to treatment. Through ‘Niramaya’, we address both these facets and promote healthy practices among individuals and families,” Ms Chand said. She added that the company considered access to quality healthcare an important part of building healthier and more resilient communities and would continue to support healthcare initiatives in the region.

During the 2025-26 financial year, Jindal Stainless’ CSR programmes reached more than 26,000 people. Niramaya alone benefited over 16,000 people through healthcare services in Jajpur. The programme is part of JSF’s wider healthcare work, which includes Nanhe Kadam, an initiative focused on clubfoot treatment for children, and Kavach, a healthcare programme for truck drivers.

Through these initiatives, the foundation aims to address different healthcare needs among communities, including access to medical services for rural residents, specialised treatment for children and healthcare support for people working in the transport sector.

Founded in 1970, Jindal Stainless is a major stainless steel manufacturer with an annual turnover of ₹42,955 crore in FY2026 and an annual melt capacity of 4.2 million tonnes. As of March 2026, the company operated 16 stainless steel manufacturing and processing facilities in India and overseas, including Spain and Indonesia. The company said its CSR programmes remain focused on community welfare alongside its manufacturing operations. Niramaya continues to combine medical services with health education and preventive interventions in rural Jajpur.
