JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), a global leader in electric bus manufacturing and sustainable mobility solutions, unveiled its all-new fully electric city bus, ECOLIFE e12, at Busworld 2025 in Brussels. The launch was led by Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JBM Group. JBM EV is the flagship arm of the $3.3 billion multinational JBM Group.

The ECOLIFE e12 is built with a lightweight, monocoque stainless-steel body and features cutting-edge technology, including an Intelligent Transport System compliant with European Union standards and advanced telematics offering real-time vehicle health monitoring. Equipped with JBM’s proprietary Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), the ECOLIFE e12 enhances on-road safety through smart obstacle detection and driver error alerts. The vehicle also integrates a suite of next-generation safety systems such as Advanced Emergency Braking (AEBS), Forward Collision Warning (FVCWS), Lane Departure Warning, Pedestrian and Cyclist Collision Detection (MOIS), Blind Spot Monitoring, Cybersecurity Protection, Intelligent Speed Assistance, Alcohol Interlock Compatibility, Driver Fatigue and Distraction Warnings, and a Fire Detection & Suppression System (FDSS) with a 360° camera for comprehensive situational awareness.

Speaking at the unveiling, Mr Arya stated, “Our goal is to decarbonize public transport and set new global standards for sustainable mobility. At JBM EV, we’re shaping the future of green transportation by merging innovation, sustainability, and user-focused design. Our electric mobility solutions aim not just to cut emissions, but to improve quality of life by making transport safer, smarter, and more inclusive.”

Marking a decade of operations in the public mobility domain, JBM EV announced its vision to serve over 20 billion passengers and achieve 3 billion electric kilometres within the next three years — reinforcing its commitment to reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction worldwide. As part of its European expansion strategy, JBM EV has established its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, which will serve as the central hub for marketing, sales, aftersales services, operations, and partnerships across the continent.

With over 11,000 electric buses deployed or in execution across global markets, JBM operates the world’s largest integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, located in India. The plant boasts an annual capacity of 20,000 electric buses. Over the past five years, JBM’s electric fleet has covered 200+ million electric kilometres, serving 1 billion passengers and reducing over 1 billion kilograms of CO₂ emissions.

At the UITP Summit this year, JBM EV showcased its Net Zero 2040 roadmap, reinforcing alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — specifically SDG 3 (Good Health & Wellbeing), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The company also introduced JBM E-Verse, its indigenously developed integrated EV ecosystem platform.

The JBM E-Verse ecosystem includes end-to-end solutions encompassing fast-charging infrastructure, high-efficiency lithium-ion batteries, energy management systems, and network support designed to ensure zero operational downtime. This initiative highlights JBM’s mission to deliver comprehensive, globally scalable e-mobility solutions — designed and developed in India for the world.
