INOX India Limited (INOXCVA), a global leader in cryogenic technology and engineering solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Sweden-based Wayout International AB to manufacture advanced decentralized water microfactories in India. The collaboration marks INOXCVA’s diversification into sustainable water infrastructure while strengthening India’s role as a manufacturing hub for next-generation environmental technologies.

Under the agreement, INOXCVA will manufacture Wayout’s proprietary water microfactory systems for domestic and international markets. The partnership combines Wayout’s innovative decentralized drinking water technology with INOXCVA’s expertise in precision engineering, modular fabrication, automation, stainless-steel process systems and industrial-scale manufacturing.

Wayout’s microfactory technology enables safe drinking water to be produced locally from multiple water sources through intelligent, automated systems. By generating water close to the point of consumption, the solution minimizes the need for long-distance transportation and significantly reduces dependence on single-use plastic bottles. The decentralized model also enhances water availability while lowering the environmental impact associated with conventional water distribution networks.

The partnership reflects the increasing focus on sustainable infrastructure capable of addressing growing global challenges related to water security, resource conservation and plastic waste reduction. It also demonstrates the confidence international technology companies place in India’s manufacturing capabilities for producing sophisticated engineering solutions at scale.

Commenting on the collaboration, Deepak Acharya, Chief Executive Officer of INOX India Limited, said the company has consistently leveraged its engineering expertise to develop complex industrial systems for demanding global industries. He noted that the partnership with Wayout opens opportunities to apply these capabilities in the rapidly expanding decentralized water sector while contributing to solutions that improve access to safe drinking water and reduce environmental impact. He added that the collaboration highlights the strength of India’s manufacturing ecosystem and reinforces INOXCVA’s commitment to supporting sustainability-led industries through advanced engineering.

Ulf Stenerhag, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wayout International AB, said INOXCVA’s manufacturing excellence, engineering capabilities and global execution experience made it the ideal partner for the company’s international expansion plans. He added that the partnership would help accelerate the deployment of sustainable drinking water solutions while advancing the shared objective of reducing plastic consumption and building more resilient water infrastructure. According to him, combining Swedish technology with Indian manufacturing expertise creates a scalable platform for delivering decentralized water systems to customers worldwide.

The jointly manufactured water microfactories are expected to serve a broad range of sectors, including residential communities, hospitality establishments, industrial facilities, educational institutions, infrastructure projects and remote locations where reliable drinking water access remains a challenge. The automated systems are designed to improve operational efficiency while supporting circular resource management and environmentally responsible water production.

For INOXCVA, the partnership expands its portfolio beyond cryogenic technologies into emerging sustainability-focused industries. The company’s extensive experience in delivering highly engineered industrial systems across more than 100 countries provides a strong foundation for supporting the production and deployment of decentralized water solutions on a global scale.
