Inntot Technologies has reinforced its position in the software-defined radio (SDR) segment by showcasing its production-ready digital radio solutions at WorldDAB Automotive 2026 in Frankfurt. The company presented its latest SDR platform designed to help automakers build more flexible, cost-efficient and scalable in-vehicle infotainment systems while reducing dependence on dedicated radio hardware.

At the event, Inntot demonstrated its field-proven DAB receiver solution, which replaces conventional hardware-based radio chipsets with software operating on standard automotive system-on-chip (SoC) platforms. The software-driven architecture enables vehicle manufacturers to simplify system design, reduce bill of materials (BoM) costs and improve supply chain flexibility without compromising audio quality or user experience.

The company has achieved a significant milestone in the global automotive market, with more than two million SDR deployments already completed and an additional five million installations currently being implemented across multiple vehicle programmes. This growing adoption reflects the industry’s shift towards software-centric vehicle platforms that deliver greater flexibility and faster feature upgrades throughout a vehicle’s lifecycle.

Inntot’s SDR platform has been engineered to support a wide range of automotive applications while remaining compatible with different hardware environments. Its platform-agnostic architecture enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier-1 suppliers to leverage existing computing resources, making integration easier across multiple vehicle models and reducing overall development costs.

The solution complies with global ETSI DAB standards as well as regional broadcasting requirements, including GCC specifications. It has been optimised for ARM-based processors and supports advanced radio capabilities such as seamless service linking, multiple data decoders, maximum ratio combining (MRC), rapid station search and enhanced reception sensitivity. The technology is backed by a portfolio of 12 granted patents covering key innovations in digital radio performance and user experience.

Rajith Nair, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Inntot Technologies, said the growing acceptance of software-defined architectures among automakers is transforming the future of automotive radio. He noted that software-defined radio has evolved from an emerging technology into a preferred solution for modern connected vehicles by delivering lower hardware costs, greater scalability and long-term flexibility for manufacturers.

The company also welcomed the launch of the DAB+ Public Policy Toolbox by WorldDAB, describing it as an important step towards supporting governments and regulators in accelerating the transition from analogue FM broadcasting to digital DAB+ services. The initiative is expected to create new opportunities for software-defined radio adoption across global automotive markets.

Inntot Technologies specialises in software-defined radio and in-cabin audio technologies, offering advanced digital media receiver solutions supporting global broadcast standards including DAB/DAB+, Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM), China Digital Radio (CDR) and HD Radio through collaboration with Xperi. The company continues to invest in deep technology innovation aimed at delivering high-performance infotainment solutions that improve affordability, scalability and digital connectivity for next-generation vehicles worldwide.
