Infineon Releases New Edge AI Evaluation Kit

Infineon Technologies AG has launched a new evaluation kit for developing Edge AI and Machine Learning (ML) applications. The PSoC™ 6 AI Evaluation Kit is designed for building intelligent consumer, smart home, and IoT applications. It offers real-time performance and power efficiency by processing data near the sensor, rather than relying on cloud solutions.

The PSoC 6 AI Evaluation Kit stands out for its compact size (35mm x 45mm) and affordable cost. It comes with integrated sensors and various connectivity options, along with tools designed for in-field data collection, rapid prototyping, and model evaluation.

The kit uses Infineon’s advanced microcontroller (MCU), sensors, and connectivity products. It also supports development environments like Infineon ModusToolbox™ and Imagimob Studio, which offers custom ML models and ready-to-use models.

Steve Tateosian, SVP of IoT, Industrial, and Consumer Microcontrollers at Infineon Technologies, said, “Our new evaluation kit provides a complete, easy-to-use ecosystem of Infineon hardware and software. This will speed up the development and deployment of intelligent solutions in various applications.”

The kit provides support for Edge AI models through the Infineon PSoC 6 MCU and facilitates development using Infineon’s XENSIV™ products, which cater to automotive, industrial, and consumer applications. It also offers various connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth®, and BLE.

Imagimob Studio helps developers quickly move to production by offering tools to build or optimize AI models. It is free to use, with charges only for new models when they are launched in a product. Imagimob Ready Models provide AI models to companies without the need for extensive machine learning expertise. The AI evaluation kit and its software environment are available now.
