Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has congratulated its brand ambassador Sheetal Devi on winning two gold medals and one silver medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games. The Arjuna Awardee, world champion and world No. 1 para archer also set multiple world records during the competition.

Athletes supported by Samarth by Hyundai, the inclusive sports initiative of the Hyundai Motor India Foundation, won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals across para athletics and para swimming. Five athletes supported by the programme qualified for the continental event.

Haney won gold in the men’s javelin F37/38 with a world-record throw of 60.49 metres. He also secured bronze in the men’s F37 discus throw. Banti took silver in the men’s high jump T44/64, recording a personal-best jump of 1.92 metres. Tejas Nandakumar won bronze in the men’s 100-metre backstroke S7. The results add to the achievements of Indian para-athletes across track and field, swimming and archery. Hyundai said its support through Samarth is intended to help athletes with disabilities access opportunities to compete and develop their sporting careers.

Tarun Garg, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India, said the company was proud of Sheetal Devi and the Samarth-supported athletes. He said their performances demonstrated determination and perseverance, adding that the company viewed inclusion as an important part of its wider social initiatives. Mr Garg said Samarth would continue supporting para-athletes and working towards an environment where people could pursue their ambitions through sport.

Hyundai’s inclusion initiatives extend beyond mobility to programmes intended to promote accessibility and create opportunities across communities. Through Samarth by Hyundai, the company supports para-sports and recognises athletes who achieve results despite barriers to participation.

Sheetal Devi’s medal tally and the performances of the Samarth-supported athletes form part of Hyundai’s efforts to raise awareness of para-sports and encourage wider participation. The company said the programme seeks to support people with disabilities and contribute to a more inclusive sporting environment.
