Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), a leading provider of smart mobility solutions, is accelerating its efforts to build a robust electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem across India. In line with Hyundai’s global mission of ‘Progress for Humanity,’ HMIL has successfully deployed 119 public EV fast charging stations as part of its ambitious plan to expand to 600 charging stations nationwide over the coming years. Through this network, HMIL has enabled the reduction of more than 1.6 million kg of CO₂ emissions, reinforcing its commitment to India’s carbon neutrality goals.

Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning at HMIL stated “At Hyundai Motor India, we are strategically positioned to lead EV adoption in the country. By leveraging Hyundai Motor Company’s global expertise in EV and battery technologies, we’ve introduced advanced vehicles like the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and CRETA Electric. Alongside these offerings, we are creating a comprehensive charging ecosystem to address range anxiety and provide seamless access for all EV users—Hyundai and non-Hyundai alike—across highways, urban centers, and HMIL dealerships. With 542 sales outlets in 238 cities as of August 2025, and in alignment with the Government of India’s vision for electrified mass mobility, we remain committed to strategic investments in EV platforms and charging infrastructure.”

A growing number of EV users are choosing Hyundai’s charging stations for their reliability—with over 97% uptime—and strategically placed locations offering customer-friendly amenities such as on-site marshals during peak hours. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is making significant strides in expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India. As part of this expansion, the company is prioritizing the installation of fast chargers along key highways, in major urban centers, and at Hyundai dealerships. This strategic focus ensures that customers have easier access to reliable charging options, especially during intercity travel and in high-traffic metropolitan areas.

As of August 2025, HMIL has successfully operationalized 119 fast-charging stations. These stations are being continually expanded to further reduce range anxiety and support stress-free EV travel. By creating a robust charging infrastructure, Hyundai is reinforcing its commitment to India’s growing EV ecosystem and making EV ownership more practical and convenient.

To accelerate its network rollout, HMIL has entered into partnerships with several leading charge point operators. These collaborations are instrumental in growing Hyundai’s charging footprint across the country. The synergy between Hyundai and its partners allows for faster deployment of chargers and ensures that EV users have access to a wide network that spans various regions and travel corridors.

Hyundai’s DC fast-charging network supports a range of configurations to cater to different EV models and charging needs. These configurations include combinations like ‘DC 150 kW + DC 60 kW + DC 30 kW’, ‘DC 150 kW + DC 30 kW’, and standalone ‘DC 60 kW’ setups. This variety provides flexibility and reduces wait times at charging stations, enhancing the overall customer experience.

The charging stations are strategically placed in high-footfall areas such as near coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping complexes, ensuring that users can make productive use of their time while their vehicles charge. For added customer support and safety, most stations feature marshals during peak hours and are under 24×7 CCTV surveillance, offering both assistance and peace of mind to EV owners.

Hyundai’s network covers several key cities including Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chennai. Major highway corridors such as Delhi–Chandigarh, Delhi–Jaipur, Hyderabad–Vijayawada, Mumbai–Pune, Mumbai–Surat, Bengaluru–Pune, and Pune–Kolhapur are also part of this rollout, ensuring nationwide connectivity. Additionally, through the myHyundai app, users can access over 20,000 charging points nationwide, enabling discovery, booking, and digital payments across both HMIL and partner stations.

In a push toward a more seamless EV ecosystem, Hyundai has introduced Hyundai Pay—the first in-car payment solution for EV charging in India. This innovation allows drivers to pay for charging directly from their vehicle’s infotainment system, with over 1,200 integrated charging points already online and more being added. Home charging options, including 7.4 kW and 11 kW chargers, are also available with every EV purchase. A special focus is being placed on Tamil Nadu, where HMIL has committed to installing 100 fast chargers. Sixteen are already operational, with 30 expected by the end of 2025, reinforcing Hyundai’s commitment to green mobility in the region.

With a steadfast focus on innovation, sustainability, and customer convenience, Hyundai Motor India is playing a key role in driving the country’s transition to clean mobility. By expanding infrastructure, integrating advanced technologies, and making EV adoption seamless for customers, HMIL is powering India’s journey toward a greener tomorrow.
