Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) hosted its inaugural Investor Day, revealing an ambitious strategic roadmap focused on product expansion, advanced manufacturing, deep localization, and financial milestones to fuel its growth journey through FY2030. Hyundai Motor Company President and CEO José Muñoz emphasized that the company is entering a new era of growth following its landmark IPO and nearly three decades of successful operations in India.

He announced that Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) will invest ₹45,000 crore by FY2030, marking a major milestone in the company’s long-term strategy. India, he said, continues to play a central role in Hyundai’s global roadmap and is expected to become the automaker’s second-largest market worldwide by the end of the decade, aligning with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision.

Highlighting India’s growing importance in Hyundai’s global operations, Mr Muñoz said that the company aims to transform the country into a global export hub, with exports expected to contribute up to 30% of overall production. As part of its product strategy, HMIL plans to launch 26 new models, including seven brand-new nameplates, by 2030. The lineup will also feature India’s first locally manufactured dedicated electric SUV by 2027, alongside the introduction of Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis, catering to premium customers.

Mr Muñoz expressed confidence in the company’s future, noting that Hyundai’s progress in India rests on a strong foundation, clear strategic direction, and an energized team. He added that Hyundai’s consistent focus on customer satisfaction has earned the enduring trust of millions of Indian consumers over the past 29 years. According to him, the company’s next growth chapter will build on these strengths while further deepening its presence across India’s evolving automotive landscape.

Speaking on the company’s broader financial ambitions, Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of HMIL, stated that the investment plan reinforces Hyundai’s commitment to sustainable and innovation-driven growth. He emphasized the company’s vision to offer smart mobility solutions supported by world-class products and advanced technology tailored to the aspirations of Indian consumers.

Mr Kim further noted that by FY2030, HMIL aims to achieve a revenue milestone of ₹1 lakh crore while maintaining strong double-digit EBITDA margins. He also reaffirmed the company’s intent to deliver long-term shareholder value, with a dividend payout policy between 20% and 40%, ensuring financial resilience and growth stability for stakeholders.

Expanding on the company’s operational strategy, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and COO, described the 2030 roadmap as a transformative milestone in Hyundai’s India journey. HMIL targets a 15%+ market share in the domestic market, driven by a robust, India-focused product strategy and a stronger presence in the fast-growing SUV segment, expected to contribute over 80% of total volumes by FY2030.

Hyundai will also become one of the few mass-market automakers in India to offer a complete range of powertrains — ICE, CNG, Hybrid, and Electric, with more than half of its portfolio powered by cleaner, sustainable technologies. By the end of the decade, HMIL’s sales and service network will extend to 85% of India’s districts, with rural areas accounting for around 30% of total sales, underscoring the company’s focus on inclusive growth and deep market penetration.
