Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has launched the new Hyundai EXTER Knight, a black-themed version of its compact SUV designed for customers looking for a sportier and more distinctive appearance. The launch comes as Hyundai’s Knight range crosses 1,00,000 cumulative sales since its introduction in 2022.
The new EXTER Knight combines blacked-out exterior elements with an all-black cabin, brass accents, sporty wheels and red front brake calipers. It retains the practicality, technology, safety and comfort features of the EXTER while adding exclusive styling touches.
Amit Dhaundiyal, Head, Product Strategy & Planning, HMIL, said the EXTER has become a popular choice among customers seeking a stylish and feature-rich SUV. He added that the new Knight edition strengthens the vehicle’s design appeal through its black theme, brass detailing and exclusive styling elements.
On the outside, the EXTER Knight features matte black EXTER and Hyundai logos at the front and rear, along with dark grey bumper and side sill garnishes. The SUV is equipped with R15 (D=380.2 mm) sporty black alloy wheels or R15 dark grey styled steel wheels, depending on the variant. Red brake calipers at the front and an exclusive Knight emblem further distinguish the model. The cabin receives an all-black treatment with brass accents and exclusive black semi-fabric seat upholstery. Amber-coloured footwell lighting and a black D-cut steering wheel add to the sporty character of the interior.
The Hyundai EXTER Knight is powered by a 4-cylinder 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine and is available with multiple transmission and fuel options. Customers can choose a 5-speed manual transmission or Hyundai’s Smart Auto AMT with the petrol powertrain. A bi-fuel Kappa petrol-CNG option with a 5-speed manual transmission is also available.
The model is offered across HX 6 1.2-litre Kappa Petrol MT, HX 6 1.2-litre Kappa Petrol AMT, HX 6 1.2-litre Bi-fuel Kappa Petrol with CNG and HX 10 1.2-litre Kappa Petrol AMT variants.
