Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and Jio-bp have partnered to integrate their electric vehicle charging networks and make public charging more accessible to EV users across India. The collaboration will add more than 7,000 Jio-bp pulse charging points across over 300 cities to the charging network available through the myHyundai app. With the integration, the platform will provide EV users access to more than 37,000 charging points across the country.
The partnership is aimed at making public EV charging simpler by allowing customers to discover and use charging stations through a single digital platform. The network is available to EV users across vehicle brands, enabling customers to locate and access participating public charging points through the myHyundai app. Jio-bp brings a network of more than 7,000 active charging points, including locations along major national highways. This wider coverage is expected to support EV owners travelling between cities and improve confidence in long-distance electric mobility.
The Jio-bp pulse network also includes high-capacity DC fast chargers ranging from 60 kW to 480 kW. These chargers are designed to support faster charging and allow compatible EVs to utilise their charging capabilities effectively. The network currently maintains an uptime of around 96%, supporting reliable access for EV users.
Hyun Sup Lee, Executive Director and Function Head, Corporate Planning, HMIL, said the partnership would help address growing concerns around charging availability as electric vehicle adoption increases. According to HMIL, the company is also expanding its own fast-charging infrastructure. It currently operates 183 DC fast-charging stations and plans to increase this number to 600 stations by 2030.
In addition to making Jio-bp pulse charging points available through the myHyundai app, HMIL-owned DC fast chargers will gradually be integrated into the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app. This will give users of both platforms wider access to charging infrastructure.
Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, Jio-bp, said the partnership would help strengthen confidence in electric mobility by combining Hyundai’s customer reach with Jio-bp’s charging network and infrastructure. Akshay Wadhwa, CEO, Jio-bp, added that reliable charger availability and high network uptime are important to reducing charging concerns among EV users.
The two companies will also explore customer-focused offers and other initiatives aimed at improving the electric vehicle ownership experience. The partnership comes as India’s EV market continues to expand and the need for a wider, reliable and easily accessible charging network grows alongside vehicle adoption.
