Hyster-Yale Materials Handling (HYMH) has been recognised as the 2026 North American Material Handling Company of the Year by Frost & Sullivan. The award highlights the company’s commitment to helping customers overcome operational challenges through advanced automation, electrification and connected technology solutions.
The recognition is part of Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Awards, which honour companies that demonstrate strong innovation, customer focus and leadership in their industries. HYMH received the award for developing practical solutions that help businesses address labour shortages, improve efficiency, lower operating costs and support sustainability goals.
David Furman, Chief Marketing Officer of Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, said businesses across the global supply chain are facing increasing pressure to improve productivity while managing rising costs and changing customer expectations. He said the company continues to work closely with customers to understand their operational needs and deliver technologies that provide measurable business benefits.
HYMH has introduced several new products across its Hyster and Yale brands to improve warehouse and logistics operations. Among the latest offerings are the Hyster Atlas and Yale Relay automated lift trucks, designed to simplify warehouse automation. The systems feature an easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface that allows operators to modify routes without requiring software programming or specialised technical expertise.
To make automation more accessible, the company also offers these solutions through a flexible rental programme. This allows businesses to adopt advanced automation without making significant upfront capital investments. The company has also expanded its safety portfolio with the Hyster Reaction and Yale Reliant pedestrian awareness camera systems. These technologies detect pedestrians up to 16 feet from a lift truck within a 110-degree field of view, providing real-time alerts to operators and collecting operational data that can help improve workplace safety and decision-making.
HYMH’s Hyster A Series and Yale Series N lift trucks were also recognised for their modular design. The platform allows customers to select configurations that match their specific operational requirements and budgets, ranging from standard models to premium equipment.
Frost & Sullivan also acknowledged the company’s customer-focused approach to equipment selection. Rather than offering standard solutions, HYMH works with customers to understand their facility layout, operational demands and long-term business objectives before recommending suitable equipment. This consultative process helps businesses improve productivity while achieving greater value from their investments.
The company’s support extends beyond equipment sales through a comprehensive service network. HYMH and its independent dealer partners provide maintenance, fleet management and technical support to maximise equipment uptime and extend product life. More than 250 independent dealers and over 10,000 certified technicians worldwide support customers with reliable after-sales service and maintenance.
