Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) has announced the launch of the HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway, a comprehensive security solution developed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Unveiled at the HPE Customer Innovation Center in Singapore, the new platform is designed to deliver advanced cybersecurity capabilities in a solution that is both easy to deploy and manage.

The Instant On Secure Gateway functions as a centralized security device, filtering and managing all network activity to prevent unauthorized access and neutralize potential threats. It integrates core security features including firewall protection, intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), virtual private network (VPN) capabilities, and WAN high availability—addressing the unique security demands of SMBs without requiring deep technical resources.

“SMBs continue to face significant challenges in protecting their networks from sophisticated cyber threats,” said Amol Mitra, Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide SMB at HPE Aruba Networking. “Many traditional solutions lack adaptability, offer insufficient cloud integration, and do not provide advanced threat detection. The HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway fills this critical gap by delivering robust protection that is easy to manage and cost-effective.”

The HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway is offered in two distinct models, each designed to accommodate different levels of performance and scalability. The SG1004 model features a 1-gigabit, 4-port configuration that includes essential capabilities such as routing, WAN failover, VPN connectivity, firewall protection, and intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS). This model is ideal for smaller environments seeking reliable, foundational network security.

For businesses requiring higher performance and additional power capabilities, the SG2505P model provides a multi-gigabit, 5-port setup with all the features of the SG1004, along with Power over Ethernet (PoE) Class 4 support and a total power budget of 64 watts. This enables the SG2505P to power connected devices such as wireless access points directly, making it a strong fit for more demanding or growing network

Mark Ablett, Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan at HPE Aruba Networking, emphasized the importance of tailored solutions for regional businesses: “SMBs in Asia Pacific and Japan are key drivers of innovation and economic development. This secure gateway enables them to protect their digital infrastructure while maintaining operational efficiency.”

The HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway delivers comprehensive threat defense through real-time detection and prevention systems that continuously monitor network traffic and automatically update security signatures. This proactive approach helps safeguard businesses from evolving cyber threats with minimal manual intervention. By integrating multiple essential security features into a single solution—including firewall, intrusion detection and prevention, and VPN support—the gateway eliminates the need for separate tools, reducing both hardware expenses and operational complexity.

In addition to enhanced security and cost efficiency, the solution supports regulatory compliance through automated policy enforcement and detailed logging capabilities, streamlining audits and ensuring consistent data protection. Its centralized, cloud-managed interface simplifies administration, allowing small and medium-sized businesses to manage their entire network from one intuitive platform. With a transparent subscription model and no hidden costs, the solution offers enterprise-grade security in an accessible and manageable format tailored to the needs of growing businesses. The HPE Networking Instant On Secure Gateway is available worldwide starting May 5, 2025.
