Horiba Opens Rs 200 Crore Medical Equipment Facility in Nagpur

Horiba India, a part of the Japanese Horiba Group, has opened a new medical equipment and consumables manufacturing facility in Butibori, Nagpur. This facility aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives and is set to become one of India’s largest units for medical equipment and reagents.

Horiba has invested around Rs 200 crore in this facility, which will serve over 30,000 diagnostic labs and hospitals across India. This is Horiba’s third major investment in India, showing its commitment to creating jobs in tier-2 cities. Horiba Ltd’s global revenue is $2.3 billion.

The opening event, called “Celebrating HONMAMON,” was attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Horiba Ltd. Chairman and Group CEO Atsushi Horiba, Horiba Ltd. Board Member Dr. Jai Hakhu, and Horiba India President Dr. Rajeev Gautam.

The 50,000 square meter facility includes units for producing blood diagnostics equipment, clinical chemistry equipment, and medical reagents. It also houses the Horiba India Technical Institute, which offers biomedical learning programs in partnership with Nagpur University, and the Horiba Experience Zone, showcasing Horiba’s healthcare equipment.

The facility also features an international training center and a central warehouse. Currently, the facility employs 100 people, with plans to nearly double this number in the next five years. Horiba India, part of the Japanese Horiba Group, specializes in analytical and measurement solutions.

Their focus spans key areas like energy, environment, healthcare, and semiconductors. With significant investments and a commitment to innovation, Horiba India plays a crucial role in advancing technological solutions and supporting healthcare infrastructure across the country.
