HMS Networks has unveiled the Anybus® CompactCom B40 Mini, a new soldered-on communication interface that enhances the Anybus CompactCom 40 series. This latest addition expands the Anybus CompactCom family, which offers a variety of ready-made communication interfaces designed for seamless integration into industrial machines and devices, providing connectivity to all major industrial networks. The Anybus CompactCom B40 Mini introduces a soldered-on option alongside the existing modules and pluggable bricks.

Each variant within the Anybus CompactCom lineup features unique attributes suited for various industrial applications.

Key Features of the Anybus CompactCom B40 Mini:

  • Compact Design: The interface is soldered directly onto the device’s carrier board, making it 30% smaller than the pluggable brick, which is perfect for space-restricted devices.
  • Efficient Manufacturing: Available in tape-and-reel format, it is optimized for automated production using pick-and-place and Surface-Mount Device (SMD) soldering, supporting high-volume, cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Versatile Network Support: The B40 Mini comes preloaded with multiple networks including PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, POWERLINK, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, and BACnet Industrial Ethernet, or can be configured for a specific network.

These features enable manufacturers to streamline product design and production processes, allowing for a single design to support multiple protocols while optimizing inventory management and giving end-users the flexibility to select their network in the field.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Anybus CompactCom B40 Mini to our product lineup,” said Andreas Stillborg, Anybus Embedded Product Manager at HMS Networks. “Our customers expressed a need for a smaller CompactCom delivered in a tape-and-reel format, which allows integration into cost-effective devices with limited space while also enhancing manufacturing efficiency. The B40 Mini meets these needs and maintains the high quality and reliability that our customers expect from Anybus products. We believe it will greatly benefit high-volume device manufacturers looking to connect to industrial networks.”

The Anybus CompactCom B40 Mini is soldered onto the carrier board of devices to enable connectivity to any major Industrial Ethernet network. HMS Networks AB (publ) is a leading provider of industrial information and communication technology solutions, employing over 1,200 people.
