HMS Networks has completed the acquisition of Red Lion Controls from Spectris Group Holdings Limited, forming a single entity ready to collaborate on shared go-to-market strategies and product offerings. The acquisition, originally announced on December 11, 2023, has now received approval, bringing together 1200 employees across 18 countries, primarily in the U.S., Sweden, and Germany.
Despite the merger, there will be no immediate changes for customers of either HMS Networks or Red Lion. Both company names and product brands will remain the same, and products will continue to be marketed and sold through existing channels. Production and shipping will be managed by the respective entities of HMS and Red Lion.
While most contact details and email addresses will remain unchanged, Red Lion staff in India will transition to hms-networks.com addresses. The merger is expected to yield significant synergies, particularly by expanding HMS’s presence in the American market and Red Lion’s reach in Europe.
Red Lion’s strong sales in North America, driven by a well-established distributor network, will benefit HMS’s gateway and remote access offerings. Conversely, HMS’s robust sales in Europe’s automation markets, accounting for about 60% of its revenue, will enable cross-selling of selected Red Lion products in Europe.

As the integration process begins, the focus will be on leveraging the combined strengths, shared values, and customer-centric approach of both companies. The goal over the next few quarters is to ensure a smooth integration and actively pursue synergies to strengthen their position in the North American market.
