HMH, a leading provider of K-12 learning technology solutions, has strengthened its presence in India by expanding its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune with the opening of a new and significantly larger office. The expansion reflects the company’s continued investment in technology, engineering talent and product innovation while supporting its mission to develop advanced digital learning solutions for educators and students worldwide.
Located in Shivaji Nagar, Pune, the new office spans approximately 24,000 square feet and has the capacity to accommodate more than 230 employees. The facility has been designed to support hybrid working with collaborative workspaces, modern infrastructure and room for future expansion as the company continues to grow its engineering and technology operations in India.
The Pune Global Capability Centre has witnessed rapid growth since its establishment in May 2023 as a dedicated technology and engineering hub. Within three years, the centre has expanded from a newly established operation to a workforce of around 300 professionals, making the larger office a strategic step to support future business requirements and strengthen collaboration across global teams.
The centre plays an important role in developing digital platforms, software engineering capabilities and technology-driven learning solutions that serve HMH’s global customer base. The expanded facility is expected to enhance cross-functional collaboration while providing employees with an environment that supports innovation, creativity and knowledge sharing.
Commenting on the expansion, Jaya Wadhwani, Senior Vice President, Software Engineering and Country Manager, HMH Tech India, said the Pune centre’s growth has been driven by strong collaboration across teams, functions and geographies. She noted that the new workplace has been designed to encourage deeper engagement among employees while providing the infrastructure needed to develop impactful learning solutions for educators and learners across the world.
The expansion also reflects HMH’s long-term commitment to India’s technology ecosystem. The company intends to continue investing in local engineering talent while further strengthening the capabilities of its Pune Global Capability Centre as an integral part of its worldwide technology and product development network.
By expanding its engineering footprint in Pune, HMH aims to accelerate the development of digital education technologies that help schools, teachers and students achieve improved learning outcomes.
