Hirschvogel Components India Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of German automotive components manufacturer Hirschvogel Group, has announced a fresh foreign direct investment (FDI) commitment of ₹750 crore for its operations in Maharashtra. The decision marks a major capacity expansion at the company’s Sanaswadi facility and reflects growing confidence in the state as a preferred destination for advanced automotive manufacturing.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the investment was signed during the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, in the presence of Honourable Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The agreement was signed by the company’s CEO, Sahil Jain. Also present at the signing were Dr P Ambalagan, Secretary (Industries Department), Markus Obolzer, Plant Head, Hirschvogel Group, Kartar Chavan, Director, along with other officials and dignitaries.

The proposed investment will be directed toward expanding production capabilities and supporting the manufacture of components needed for electric vehicle (EV) applications. The expansion is expected to strengthen Maharashtra’s industrial base, contribute to the state’s growing automotive ecosystem, and enhance localisation of next-generation mobility components.

Hirschvogel Group is a well-established global supplier of automotive components with manufacturing operations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The group reports an annual turnover of approximately ₹15,000 crore, supplying high-precision parts to leading vehicle manufacturers worldwide.

In India, Hirschvogel began production at its Sanaswadi plant in 2016. Since then, the company has already invested close to ₹1,000 crore into the project, building a strong manufacturing footprint focused on quality, scale, and export-oriented capability.

Industry analysts note that the passenger vehicle segment is currently seeing strong growth, supported by increased demand and renewed investment momentum across the auto supply chain. Maharashtra has increasingly attracted major industrial investments due to its infrastructure readiness, policy support, and incentive structures. Recent large-scale investments in the state—such as Toyota’s major commitment at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar—have further reinforced Maharashtra’s reputation as an automotive manufacturing hub.

Hirschvogel, a key supplier to Toyota, has also earned industry recognition for its performance and delivery standards, including being named ‘Toyota Supplier of the Year 2024’. The latest investment decision reflects the company’s continued long-term commitment to India and its intention to play a larger role in the evolving EV and advanced mobility supply chain.
