Hexaware Technologies (NSE: HEXT), an AI-focused digital and IT services company, and upGrad Enterprise, the corporate skilling and workforce transformation business of upGrad, have expanded their collaboration to deliver artificial intelligence skilling and enterprise transformation programmes for Hexaware clients globally. The expanded partnership builds on earlier work between the two companies to strengthen AI capabilities within Hexaware, including enterprise-wide generative AI training and the launch of the Agentic AI Academy. Under the new arrangement, upGrad Enterprise will become Hexaware’s preferred partner for enterprise AI capability development.

The collaboration will also extend beyond employee training to include joint go-to-market initiatives, customer engagement and enterprise transformation programmes. The companies will work together to help organisations build AI capabilities across technology, business and leadership teams.

The programme portfolio will include industry-specific AI learning tracks, role-based Agentic AI programmes for technical and business teams, executive AI innovation labs and co-design workshops for senior leaders.

The partnership will also support AI experimentation through coding centres of excellence, AI sandboxes, development tools and rapid prototyping programmes. The companies plan to develop elements of a joint AI playbook and create customised programmes to address specific enterprise transformation requirements.

The initiative is designed to help organisations develop the skills needed to move from traditional cloud and software engineering towards AI-led architecture and development. Cloud architects will be supported in developing GenAI architecture capabilities, while software developers will be trained in AI engineering. Business teams will also be able to use generative AI tools and low-code autonomous agents to automate routine workflows and support multi-step business decisions, reducing reliance on specialist technology teams for selected use cases.

R Srikrishna, CEO & Executive Director, Hexaware, said enterprise AI programmes increasingly require organisations to align architecture, engineering and business teams around a common delivery plan. He said the partnership aims to integrate workforce readiness into broader AI transformation programmes.

The companies had earlier delivered a three-day AI training programme in March 2026 for executives and senior engineering managers from a major banking customer, reflecting growing demand for enterprise AI skills in the financial services sector. Hexaware and upGrad Enterprise will also explore collaboration with hyperscalers and AI-focused venture partners. The combined programmes are intended to improve engineering productivity, with target benefits including faster software releases, stronger code quality and fewer defects, while helping organisations adopt AI with appropriate governance.

Arushee Aggarwal, CEO, upGrad Enterprise, said enterprise skilling must translate into changes in how employees make decisions, develop solutions and perform their roles. She said the partnership with Hexaware will combine executive learning, engineering capabilities and business adoption within enterprise AI programmes. Through the expanded collaboration, Hexaware and upGrad Enterprise aim to help organisations build a workforce capable of adopting AI at scale while supporting responsible implementation, stronger productivity and continued innovation.
