Haier Appliances India has announced a significant expansion and growth roadmap, targeting revenue of USD 2 billion in the Indian market by the end of 2027. To support this ambition, the company plans to invest Rs 3,500 crore over the next three to four years in a phased manner, focusing on capacity expansion, localisation, and manufacturing excellence.

Speaking on the company’s growth plans, NS Satish, President, Haier India, said the investment will strengthen Haier’s manufacturing footprint and support rising demand across key product categories. The company is currently evaluating multiple locations in southern India for a new manufacturing facility that will cater to both domestic sales and export markets. Discussions with state governments are underway, and the final decision will be based on infrastructure readiness, policy support, and long-term operational considerations.

The proposed investment is expected to generate approximately 12,000 jobs, including both direct and indirect employment opportunities. Haier sees strong growth potential in segments such as air conditioners, LED televisions, and washing machines, and expects its market share in these categories to move into double digits over the coming years.

In addition to the new facility, Haier has planned a capital expenditure of Rs 1,900 crore in 2026. Of this, Rs 1,500 crore will be invested in setting up a second room air-conditioner manufacturing unit at its Greater Noida plant, while the remaining Rs 400 crore will be used for additional production lines and capacity enhancements, including refrigerators.

Addressing concerns related to foreign investment regulations under Press Note 3, Mr Satish clarified that Haier India’s investments are being funded through internal accruals. He stated that the company has not faced any material challenges due to its parent company being based in China and continues to execute its growth plans without disruption.

Following strong festive-season demand, during which the brand recorded growth of up to 45 percent, Haier expects to close calendar year 2025 with revenues of around Rs 11,000 crore, representing growth of approximately 22 percent. The company is targeting revenue of Rs 14,500 crore in 2026 and expects to cross the USD 2 billion milestone within two years.

Haier is also deepening localisation across its product portfolio. Printed circuit board manufacturing has already been localised, and the company is pursuing backward integration initiatives such as injection moulding. Currently, localisation levels stand at about 80 percent for refrigerators and 70–80 percent for room air conditioners, depending on the model. Haier aims to become the second-largest player in India’s consumer durables market, which is projected to reach Rs 2 lakh crore by 2030.
