Greaves Cotton Appoints Parag Satpute as Managing Director and Group CEO

Greaves Cotton Limited, a 165-year-old diversified engineering company, has announced the appointment of Parag Satpute as its new Managing Director and Group CEO. In his new position, Mr Satpute will lead the strategy and operations across Greaves Engineering, Greaves Retail, Greaves Technologies, and Excel Controlinkage Private Limited. His focus will be on strengthening business performance and driving growth across all verticals.

Mr Satpute brings with him nearly three decades of leadership experience in mobility solutions and manufacturing, both in India and globally. He joins Greaves from Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, where he served as President of the Fleet Business. Before that, he was Managing Director at Bridgestone India, where he led a major business transformation.

His career also includes over 20 years at Sandvik, where he rose to become Managing Director and Chairman of the Board for its Indian subsidiaries. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University and an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School.

Sharing his thoughts on the new role, Mr Satpute said, “I’m honored to join Greaves Cotton at a time of such exciting transformation. The company’s mission to create sustainable and accessible solutions is something I deeply connect with. I look forward to working alongside the team to drive this mission forward.” This leadership change follows the resignation of Dr Arup Basu as Managing Director. His term will officially conclude at the close of business on May 9, 2025.
