Model Industrial Training Institute, Government ITI Cuttack added three more advanced training labs to their institute, which was inaugurated by Subroto Bagchi, Chairman of Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) on 26th November 2020. Along with Chief Guest Reghu G IAS, Director of Director of Technical Education and Training (DTET), Government of Odisha, U C Patnaik, Director, EdgeFX, Hyderabad, Dr. Hrushikesh Mohanty, Principal, Government ITI Cuttack, Sakyasingha Mahapatra, Founder & CEO, SAK Robotix were present during the inauguration ceremony.
“An Institute can have a physical infrastructure but it is complete only when it has the right intellectual infrastructure and emotional infrastructure and it is only possible through the bold efforts of the trainers and the trainees”, said Mr. Bagchi in his inaugural speech.
He further added that COVID19 pandemic is not a situation rather an opportunity to learn. “We have learned many things during this pandemic, and we have done many contact-less innovations and learned about new skills”, said Mr. Bagchi.
The STEM Tinkering and Innovation Lab was built by EdgeFX Hyderabad, an MoU on this was signed by G Reghu of DTET and Kamini Gupta, Edge FX Technologies Pvt LTD on 22nd of October 2020. The Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Tinkering and Innovation Lab will have a physical as well as a virtual innovation center, and the students will get the opportunity to learn about Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Industry4.0, Electronics, etc.EdgeFX specializes in setting up Start-up, Research, and Innovation Centres’ and its unique Innovation Virtual Lab offering is a global trendsetter and market leader in experiential learning.
Delivering his keynote address Chief Guest Mr. Reghu congratulated the entire team of ITI Cuttack for their commendable achievements during COVID19. “When the whole city was covered in the darkness of fear of COVID19, the lights of the ITI Cuttack was on and noticed many times passing through the road. It was only because the staff members and their dedication to work during this pandemic, resulted in achieving so many innovations”, added Mr. Reghu.
Apart from the STEM and Innovation Lab, the Robotic Lab set up by SAK Robotix was also inaugurated by Mr. Bagchi. The association with SAK Robotix will help the students to enhance their skills in future technologies related to robotic automation and contact-less technologies. SAK Robotix founded by Sakyasingha Mahapatra is into developing automatic and teleoperation multi-tasking hybrid service robots.
The robotic inventions took a centre stage fighting multiple operations during COVID19 at hospitals, shopping malls, traffic management, logistics management, etc. Robotic technology will play a major role in the coming days, and developing advanced skills through the Robotic Lab will help the industry to get the right candidates.
Commenting about the inauguration Dr. Hrushikesh Mohanty, Principal of Government of ITI CUTTACK, Khapuria, Odisha said, "We are proudly announcing the accomplishment of another high willed endeavor of inaugurating EdgeFX STEM Tinkering & Innovation Lab and Sak Robotix Lab by Mr. Subroto Bagchi, Honorable Chairman, OSDA in presence of Reghu G. Director, DTET & Mr. U.C. Patnaik, Director, EdgeFX to embrace our campus adding more advanced training support and infrastructure. He added, “Our institute is a temple where we preach about hands-on, minds-on and hearts on to achieve the mission of ‘Skilled in Odisha’. It is only 10% of what has been achieved and still miles to go before we rest”.
