The company has implemented expansion initiatives in numerous countries globally, addressing the specific needs and preferences of each market. For the Indian markets exclusively, Gogoro has both introduced battery swapping infrastructure and a new model called the CrossOver GX250. Gogoro strategically developed the CrossOver GX250 keeping in mind the demands of Indian cities while also being sturdy enough for off-road adventures. While recognizing the potential in the Indian market, Gogoro’s founder and CEO, Horacio Luke, emphasized the importance of meeting the commuting needs of Indian riders. Horacio Luke expressed in the official press release, “The Gogoro CrossOver series embodies everything our brand has come to stand for, and the new made-in-India CrossOver GX250 is optimized for riders in India with more seating space, greater storage, and better ground clearance.” The CrossOver GX250 is equipped with a 2.5-kilowatt direct-drive electric motor, providing a top speed exceeding 45 miles per hour and a certified range of 70 miles on a single charge.

What sets the CrossOver GX250 apart is its reinforced suspension designed to accommodate additional cargo. The CrossOver GX250 is certified by India’s International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) for EV financing programs, ensuring accessibility to all. Gogoro aims to initially target the last-mile delivery sector through a B2B business model in Delhi and Goa.

Highlighting the importance of the last-mile delivery sector in India, Horacio Luke pointed out,  “On average, last mile delivery riders ride more than six-times the distance as consumer riders, so enabling these delivery riders to adopt smart sustainable electric transportation can have an accelerated impact on a city.” Beyond the delivery sector, Gogoro plans to make the CrossOver GX250 available to consumers in the second quarter of 2024, offering three models – the CrossOver GX250, CrossOver 50, and CrossOver S.
