Godrej Industries Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Haryana, outlining plans to invest around ₹20,000 crore in the state and potentially create nearly 40,000 jobs. The agreement was signed in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
The proposed investment will build on the Group’s existing presence in Haryana. Godrej Industries Group has invested approximately ₹12,000 crore in the state so far and employs around 9,000 people across its businesses. Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL) will play a major role in the next phase of investment. The company has already invested nearly ₹11,000 crore in Haryana and plans to invest another ₹16,000 crore by FY28. GPL currently has 18 projects across Gurugram, Sonipat, Faridabad, Panipat and Kurukshetra. Its planned projects are expected to generate more than 11,000 jobs.
The Group’s investment plans also cover commercial real estate. Godrej Ventures, the Group’s real estate private equity business, has invested around ₹1,000 crore in Haryana and plans to invest a further ₹3,500 crore in Grade A+ office infrastructure in Gurugram. These investments are expected to create more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs and support the growth of the city’s commercial ecosystem.
Pirojsha Godrej, Chairperson, Godrej Industries Group, said Haryana has become an important growth market for the Group, supported by its strong economy, urbanisation and Gurugram’s position as a major commercial centre. He said the proposed investments reflect the Group’s long-term confidence in the state.
The Group also has a presence in financial services and consumer products. Godrej Capital operates five branches in Haryana and has facilitated around ₹550 crore in bookings through its financing business. Godrej Consumer Products has 42 direct distributors and more than 250 rural stockists across the state.
Beyond business investments, the Group contributes to local development through CSR and infrastructure initiatives. It spends around ₹1 crore annually on CSR programmes and more than ₹10 crore on infrastructure-related initiatives. These include support for construction workers, weather-related insurance and public-space restoration in Karnal and Kurukshetra.
The Godrej Industries Group serves over 1.1 billion consumers worldwide through a diversified portfolio spanning FMCG, real estate, financial services, agriculture, and chemicals. With revenues of USD 6.1 billion in FY25 and a market capitalisation of approximately USD 20 billion, the Group holds leadership positions across multiple sectors. Through its Good & Green initiative, the Group remains committed to sustainability, with targets including net-zero operations by 2035 and responsible supply chains by 2047.
