Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG), through its aerospace division, announced that it has been awarded a five-year contract to manufacture critical components for LEAP engines, produced by Safran Aircraft Engines in partnership with GE Aerospace under their joint venture, CFM International. LEAP engines are widely used in powering next-generation narrow-body aircraft.

As part of the agreement, GEG will produce titanium-based complex ventilation assemblies for LEAP engines. The production process will involve precision machining, advanced welding, and non-destructive testing, ensuring compliance with the stringent global standards of civil aviation. This initiative reinforces India’s role in the international aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.

Maneck Behramkamdin, Executive Vice President and Business Head – Aerospace, Godrej Enterprises Group, said “This contract is a strong endorsement of India’s growing role in the global aerospace ecosystem. By producing such highly complex components domestically, we are advancing the vision of ‘Make in India for the world.’”

The partnership further strengthens GEG’s long-standing collaboration with Safran Aircraft Engines and positions the company as a key contributor to global aero-engine programs. Dominique Dupuy, Senior Vice President – Purchasing, Safran Aircraft Engines, commented “By expanding our long-standing partnership with Godrej Enterprises Group, we are supporting the LEAP programme while reinforcing Safran’s vision of building long-term industrial ties with India as a strategic hub in the global aerospace ecosystem.”

This mandate highlights GEG’s commitment to advancing India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities and consolidates its position as a trusted global supplier of high-precision aero-engine components. Safran is a global high-technology group specializing in aviation, defense, and space. With 92,000 employees and €23.2 billion in revenue (2023), Safran leads in multiple aerospace domains. Through CFM International, a 50/50 joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE Aerospace, it is the world’s largest supplier of engines for single-aisle commercial jets.
