Gemtek Technology and Dixon Technologies (India) Limited are expanding their strategic cooperation in India through their joint venture, with a focus on optical connectivity products and manufacturing. The partnership will cover Optical Transceivers, Bidirectional Optical Sub-Assembly (BOSA) and other high-speed optical connectivity solutions. The companies aim to build manufacturing and market opportunities for these products in India and serve customers in global markets.

The cooperation combines Gemtek’s experience in optical communications, photonic integration and product development with Dixon’s manufacturing capabilities, supply-chain strength and presence in the Indian market. The companies plan to create a scalable manufacturing platform to serve several growing sectors, including broadband, telecommunications, cloud computing, data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Gemtek is expanding its optical connectivity portfolio with products ranging from 1G to 1.6T. The portfolio includes Optical Transceivers, SFPs, BOSA and other high-speed connectivity products. The company is also working on technologies based on electronic integrated circuit-photonic integrated circuit (EIC-PIC) integration. Its product roadmap includes 800G and 1.6T solutions, along with next-generation photonic integration technologies.

The development comes as demand for high-speed connectivity continues to rise with the expansion of artificial intelligence, cloud services and data centre infrastructure. Higher data traffic and the need for faster networks are increasing demand for advanced optical connectivity equipment. The collaboration is also expected to support local manufacturing of Optical Transceivers, BOSA and other high-speed optical products in India.

By combining Gemtek’s technology and product development capabilities with Dixon’s local manufacturing and supply-chain infrastructure, the companies aim to increase production capacity in India. The partnership will also complement Gemtek’s existing global manufacturing network and help diversify its supply chain. Gemtek will showcase its optical connectivity portfolio at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, scheduled to take place from October 7 to 10 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi.

At the event, the company plans to present its 1G-to-1.6T optical connectivity portfolio for broadband, telecom and AI data centre applications. The display will include Optical Transceivers, BOSA and next-generation high-speed optical connectivity technologies.

Gemtek Technology is a global provider of networking and communications solutions covering broadband, Wi-Fi, fibre, 5G, optical connectivity and AI-enabled networking.
