Gateway Distriparks (GDL) has successfully launched its first double-stack train service between the Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) in Ankleshwar and the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Garhi. The inaugural service, completed on October 15, 2025, carried a combination of EXIM and domestic containers, marking a significant milestone for the company’s domestic logistics operations.
This service operates under a hub-and-spoke model, connecting JNPT to ICD Garhi via Ankleshwar, and is a key part of Gateway Distriparks’ expansion into domestic services in northern India. The launch strengthens the company’s multimodal logistics network, improving connectivity between western and northern industrial hubs and boosting operational efficiency.

Looking ahead, EXIM operations from Ankleshwar are scheduled to begin by the start of the next financial year, coinciding with the completion of Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) connectivity to NhavaSheva. This will further enhance double-stack capabilities and facilitate faster, more efficient movement of cargo between India’s major ports and industrial centers.
