Gastops, a Canadian provider of advanced in-service support solutions, has entered into a teaming agreement with TKMS, a global naval systems company, to support the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). The collaboration will focus on building long-term capabilities to enhance the operational readiness and lifecycle support of submarines for the Royal Canadian Navy.

As part of the agreement, the two organizations will establish an Automation System In-Service Support (ASISS) Centre of Excellence in Canada. The centre will be responsible for managing and sustaining key onboard systems, including automation and platform management systems, as well as steering, driving control and autopilot functions throughout the submarines’ operational life.

The ASISS initiative will deliver comprehensive support services, covering maintenance, performance monitoring and system optimization to ensure high levels of availability and reliability. By localizing these capabilities in Canada, the partnership aims to strengthen domestic expertise while supporting long-term defence infrastructure.

The collaboration will also incorporate advanced digital capabilities through the involvement of Canadian AI company CORSphere. Its technology will provide predictive diagnostics, performance assessment and prognostic insights, enabling proactive maintenance strategies and improved operational efficiency.

The partnership brings together complementary strengths, combining Gastops’ experience in condition monitoring and lifecycle support with TKMS’s expertise in submarine design and maritime defence systems. Together, the companies aim to deliver a robust support framework tailored to the evolving needs of modern naval operations.

Leadership from both organizations highlighted the importance of the initiative in supporting national defence priorities and building sustainable capabilities within Canada’s marine sector. The project is expected to contribute to long-term operational readiness while fostering innovation in maintenance and support technologies. The establishment of the ASISS Centre of Excellence represents a significant step in strengthening Canada’s submarine support capabilities while integrating advanced technologies to improve performance and lifecycle management.

Gastops has a long-standing track record in providing intelligent monitoring solutions across aerospace, defence, energy and industrial sectors. Its technologies are designed to enhance equipment performance, safety and reliability through data-driven insights and predictive maintenance.
