Freyr Energy, a residential rooftop solar company in India, has launched a new range of smart solar inverters designed to improve energy conversion, monitoring and reliability for homeowners. The new 3 kW and 5 kW single-phase inverters use Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology and offer conversion efficiency of up to 97.8%.
The new products have been developed by Freyr Energy and manufactured by Zenergize, an EV charging and renewable energy solutions manufacturer. The launch expands Freyr Energy’s integrated rooftop solar offering and is aimed at addressing some of the challenges faced by Indian households, including energy losses, voltage fluctuations, dust and changing weather conditions.
The inverters are designed for Indian residential applications and convert direct current generated by solar panels into stable 230V single-phase alternating current. Their high conversion efficiency is intended to help households make better use of the electricity generated by their solar installations while reducing energy losses during conversion.
The systems also include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing homeowners to monitor their solar installations through the Freyr Energy Solar App. Users can access information on system performance and generation through the digital platform. The inverters feature IP65 protection and built-in safeguards against short circuits, overloads, overheating and electrical surges caused by lightning or voltage fluctuations. The products have MNRE approval and BIS certification and come with a 10-year warranty.
A dust-resistant design and self-cleaning technology are intended to reduce the accumulation of dust and help maintain performance with limited maintenance. The inverters also use Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology to continuously identify the optimum voltage and current from solar panels under changing weather conditions.
“India’s rooftop solar sector is undergoing a significant transformation, with customers increasingly looking for reliable and efficient systems. Our new inverters address key concerns around energy losses, monitoring and performance under different weather conditions,” said Radhika Choudary, Co-Founder and Director, Freyr Energy.
The company said the inverter can work with the grid by matching voltage, frequency and phase, allowing surplus solar electricity to be exported when available. When solar generation is insufficient, the system can draw power from the grid. India’s residential rooftop solar market is gaining momentum due to rising electricity demand, greater consumer awareness and government programmes such as the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Freyr Energy said it will continue to focus on technology-driven products as rooftop solar adoption expands across the country.
Freyr Energy specializes in end-to-end rooftop solar solutions for residential and commercial customers across India. Its services include system design, engineering, installation, financing support, and long-term maintenance. The company currently operates ten Solar Experience Centres across the country and continues to expand its presence amid growing demand for decentralized renewable energy systems.
