Fineotex Chemical Limited has received an upgrade in its long-term credit rating from ICRA Limited, reflecting the company’s stronger business scale, wider market presence and improved financial profile. ICRA has raised Fineotex’s long-term rating to [ICRA]AA- (Stable) from [ICRA]A+ (Positive). The rating agency has also reaffirmed the company’s short-term rating at [ICRA]A1+.
The upgrade follows a significant expansion in the scale and diversity of the Fineotex Group after its acquisition of a 53.33% controlling stake in a US-based specialty chemical manufacturing group during FY2026. According to ICRA, the acquisition has strengthened Fineotex’s business profile and created opportunities for further growth through consolidation of the acquired operations, increased customer engagement, cross-selling, technology transfers and operational synergies.
The rating agency also highlighted Fineotex’s strong financial risk profile. The company has negligible debt, a comfortable capital structure and healthy financial coverage indicators. Its liquidity position remains strong, supported by cash and liquid investments, expected operating cash flows and available working-capital limits. ICRA’s Stable outlook reflects expectations that the Fineotex Group will continue to benefit from the recent acquisition. The agency expects the expanded operations to support growth in revenue and earnings while maintaining healthy credit metrics.
Sanjay Tibrewala, Executive Director, Fineotex Chemical Limited, said the rating action reflects the company’s strengthened business position and financial discipline. “The upgrade to [ICRA]AA- (Stable), along with the reaffirmation of our [ICRA]A1+ short-term rating, recognises Fineotex’s stronger scale, diversified business profile and robust financial position. Our US acquisition has expanded our presence in the North American oilfield chemicals market and opened opportunities across customers, products and geographies,” he said.
Fineotex will continue to focus on integrating the acquired business, increasing cross-selling opportunities and transferring technology across its operations. The company also plans to maintain disciplined capital allocation while pursuing sustainable growth.
