Ferguson, a leading North American distributor of water and air products and services, has entered into an agreement to acquire FloWorks, a Houston-based industrial distributor and service provider, from Wynnchurch Capital for approximately $1.6 billion. The acquisition will strengthen Ferguson’s industrial valve and flow control platform while expanding its presence across high-growth industrial markets.
The transaction is expected to increase Ferguson’s stated addressable market to approximately $400 billion by adding advanced industrial flow control solutions and expanding the company’s capabilities across critical end markets. FloWorks generated approximately $1 billion in revenue in 2025 and operates more than 60 locations across the United States and Canada, with a strong presence along the Gulf Coast and throughout the southern United States.
FloWorks provides technical valves, automation solutions, and flow control products and services to customers across industries including chemicals, refining, power generation, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and data centers. The company has more than 1,000 associates, 25 service and repair centres, and a portfolio of 15 recognised brands serving specialised industrial applications.
The acquisition will enhance Ferguson’s technical expertise in valves, valve automation, specialty flow control solutions, and repair and maintenance services. It will also increase the company’s exposure to non-residential markets and expand recurring revenue opportunities through maintenance, repair, and operations-focused services.
Ferguson expects the combination to create opportunities for revenue synergies across its Industrial, Commercial Mechanical, and Waterworks customer groups. The company also anticipates cost efficiencies through improved network optimisation, logistics capabilities, and technology integration.
Kevin Murphy, CEO of Ferguson, said, “FloWorks strengthens our leading position in high-growth industrial end markets while adding meaningful capabilities and geographic coverage that we can leverage across our non-residential customer groups. Their expert teams, technical capabilities, and strong OEM brands will further enhance our ability to deliver essential solutions for specialised professionals. We welcome FloWorks associates to Ferguson and look forward to our next phase of growth together.”
Scott Jackson, CEO of FloWorks, said, “Joining Ferguson ensures our more than 65-year legacy continues with a partner that shares our commitment to customer service and operational excellence. Ferguson’s scaled platform and capabilities will enable our associates to better support customers while creating new opportunities for growth.”
The acquisition represents a strategic step in Ferguson’s efforts to expand its industrial offering, strengthen customer relationships, and provide a broader range of specialised solutions across North America. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
