Eugia Pharma Specialities Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma Limited, has announced the launch of Pomalidomide Capsules in the United States. The capsules are available in strengths of 1 mg, 2 mg, 3 mg and 4 mg and represent the generic equivalent of Pomalyst® Capsules developed by BMS Pharmaceuticals Corp.

Eugia Pharma was among the first companies to file an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for the product in the United States. The newly launched capsules will be manufactured at Eugia’s Unit-I production facility, which meets stringent regulatory standards required for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Pomalidomide is a third-generation immunomodulatory drug widely used in the treatment of certain cancers and related conditions. The medication is typically prescribed in combination with dexamethasone and, in some cases, bortezomib for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. It is also used in the treatment of AIDS-related Kaposi sarcoma.

Multiple myeloma is a cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow, and treatment options often involve combination therapies to control disease progression. Immunomodulatory drugs such as pomalidomide play an important role in helping patients whose condition has returned or no longer responds to previous treatments.

According to IQVIA market data for the twelve-month period ending January 2026, pomalidomide capsules represent an estimated market opportunity of approximately US$3.3 billion in the United States. The introduction of a generic alternative is expected to expand patient access to the therapy while offering cost-effective treatment options.

The launch also strengthens Eugia Pharma’s presence in the specialty pharmaceutical segment in the U.S. market. The company continues to focus on developing complex generics and specialty formulations that address important therapeutic areas.
