Tallinn, Estonia is set to welcome a new chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) following a strategic meeting between Alar Karis, President of the Republic of Estonia, and Murali Bukkapatnam, Chair of the TiE Global Board of Trustees. This upcoming chapter is poised to serve as a vital link connecting startups, investors, and ecosystem players across Europe, Asia, and the U.S., driving a fresh wave of global innovation and enterprise.

The dialogue between the two leaders marks a milestone in Estonia’s efforts to align its growing digital startup ecosystem with TiE’s globally recognized entrepreneurial platform. With a legacy of generating over $1 trillion in wealth and nurturing thousands of startups, TiE Global brings a tested model of mentorship, funding, and scaling. Murali Bukkapatnam, the second Indian to lead the TiE Global Board, has played a pivotal role in initiating this partnership, reinforcing TiE’s commitment to enabling international startup collaboration.

President Alar Karis expressed strong support for the initiative, stating that Estonia’s digital-forward policies and innovation ecosystem make it an ideal destination for such a collaboration. Murali Bukkapatnam noted that Estonia’s rise in global startup rankings is built on strategic governance and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and that the Tallinn chapter will provide valuable global connections and growth platforms for local startups. The chapter aims to build cross-border opportunities, linking Estonian innovators with international networks of expertise, mentorship, and capital.

The launch announcement coincided with TiE Global’s annual retreat, held this year in Estonia. The event drew entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers from around the world. Highlights included an interaction with President Karis and a fireside chat with India’s Ambassador to Estonia and Finland, Ashish Sinha, who emphasized the growing bilateral ties and emerging areas of cooperation—especially in digital and deep-tech domains. With Estonia’s digital leadership and TiE’s global experience, the new chapter in Tallinn is expected to become a vibrant hub for entrepreneurship in the Baltic region.
