Epiroc AB has started construction on a new facility in Nashik, India, that will focus on manufacturing and research for mining and construction equipment. The development is part of the company’s plan to strengthen its operations in India and expand global support.
The site will produce both underground and surface equipment and include space for prototyping, research and development labs, office areas, and an outdoor testing ground. Covering approximately 175,000 square meters, the facility is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2026, with additional phases planned afterward. “This new facility marks an important step in growing our presence in India and enhancing global support,” said Helena Hedblom, President and CEO of Epiroc.
Epiroc already has a number of operations across India, including in Nashik, with a workforce of about 1,750 employees. This includes a growing team dedicated to research and development. In recent years, the company has expanded its Hyderabad operations, opening both a larger rock drilling tool factory and a technology center.
The new Nashik facility is expected to generate about 200 new jobs, adding to the existing local workforce of 280. “We see strong potential in India’s market and are pleased to continue growing here,” said Arunkumar Govindarajan, President of Epiroc India. “This new site supports our commitment to local production and development.”
Epiroc, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, provides equipment and services for mining and infrastructure. The company focuses on advancing automation, digital tools, and electrification in its machinery and solutions. In 2024, Epiroc reported revenues of approximately SEK 64 billion and employs around 19,000 people in 150 countries.
