The climate crisis is no longer a far-off concern; it is directly affecting our daily lives and demands urgent action. With a surge of innovative solutions and emerging technologies across the globe, achieving a sustainable, net-zero future will require a collective, worldwide effort. No single country, company, or community can tackle this challenge alone. To further this effort, IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP), India’s foremost innovation and startup hub for deep-tech, in collaboration with the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), will host the third edition of Envision 2025 from January 30 to February 1, 2025. The theme for this year’s event, “Ground Zero for Net-Zero,” aims to unite grassroots initiatives and global stakeholders in a call for immediate climate action.
Building on the success of Envision 2024, which attracted over 500 participants and featured more than 50 expert speakers from 12+ technology sectors, including the launch of the Zero to Green Alliance, this year’s conference will amplify its impact. Envision 2025 will highlight India’s capacity to address climate challenges and demonstrate advancements in climate technologies across various key sectors.
These include green buildings, solar and wind energy, electric mobility, energy storage, nuclear energy, climate finance, heating and cooling solutions, climate policy, circular economy, and green hydrogen. The event will provide a platform to explore innovative solutions that can help accelerate India’s transition to a sustainable and net-zero future.
Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-Founder of Infosys, spoke at the 2023 Envision conference, stating, “With rapid advancements in AI, electric vehicles, and related technologies, India’s per-capita energy consumption is set to grow quickly. To transition to a developed economy and meet this energy demand, India must become self-sufficient in clean energy generation, setting a roadmap to create a $300 billion industry. Achieving this will require a strategic, collaborative approach that integrates risk funding and replicates models like the IITM Research Park to help move solutions from labs to markets.”
The three-day event will feature expert-led sessions, panel discussions, in-depth workshops, and technology exhibitions designed to help stakeholders turn climate commitments into actionable solutions. This year’s event will also host the second edition of “Pitch to Win,” encouraging startups to present their innovative climate tech solutions.
Envision 2025 provides a unique opportunity to shape a sustainable, economically viable, and socially inclusive energy future for India. IIT Madras Research Park invites all to participate in this essential dialogue and drive forward climate action. As India’s first university-based research park and a Section 8 Not-for-Profit Company, IITM Research Park houses 250 research-focused companies, labs, and 11 Centres of Excellence, all dedicated to fostering industry-academia collaborations and developing scalable, market-ready technological solutions.
